My Story – Tracey Gobla
Meet Tracey,
Born into a family of five girls, every day in my early life was a hair show and fashion show. I knew at a young age what fed my passion: I was driven to express my creativity in hair styling. Not wanting to waste a moment, I jumped right into a career program in high school that allowed me to go to cosmetology school and finish high school at the same time.
When I became a licensed cosmetologist at the ripe age of 18, there was no turning back. I had found what I loved to do and would end up building my life’s work in the hair styling and salon industry. I began by mastering my cutting and styling techniques and built a strong clientele early in my career. Imagine every trendy hairstyle from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and on – I was there, I learned it, I cut it, I permed it, I colored it, I sprayed it, thought it, I wore it. Later, I branched out to learn the business side of the industry and opened Navii salon spa in 2000.
With 45 plus years in this industry I still have a burning passion to be creative, to learn and to guide young hairdressers to help our guests look and feel beautiful. In the words of Michelangelo at 81, “I’m still learning.”
My career has opened the door to endless opportunities; the people I have met, the classes I have taken, the places I have traveled and the young hair dressers I have mentored. I have always believed in giving back and have had a career-long passion for elevating my industry.
I’m grateful to the wonderful people of Northwest Indiana who have supported Navii salon spa and made us a part of their lives for many years. What a wonderful journey it has been and continues to be.
“Success is liking yourself liking what you do and liking how you do it.”
